New Discoveries

Things sure have been busy around here, but I have finally made time to put a few updates on here. First, Joseph was offered a good scholarship to go to Kent College of Law here in Chicago. If we chose to accept it it would mean one extra year of school for him as he would be doing the part time program. Congratulations Joseph!! We have yet to hear back from two more schools, so no final decision has been made yet! We are anxious to know where we will end up!

The title, "New Discoveries" is really about Alex. The past few weeks have brought a whole new world to him it seems. He is 4 months old now and we will find out how chunky and how long he is next week at his checkup. I am betting he is about 26 1/2 inches long and over 16 pounds. He's getting so big. He is getting very strong and can sit up pretty well now with little help from us just with his balance. Below I will show you a few of his new discoveries, and then a couple that were just too cute not to put on here.

He has discovered that he loves to eat his toes. Kinda gross, cause we have discovered that he has kinda stinky feet! :o) Anytime we change his daiper or anything where he is lying down, the feet go straight up and the left foot goes into the mouth. Then, when we try to put his feet down to, for example, get the daiper on, he gets mad and holds on really tight to his toes. It's pretty entertaining!

It was finally warm enough this week to go out on our balcony with him. It looks dark, but it's really light outside. We have now been on a few walks and he seems to like to be outside. So, he has finally discovered the world of "outside."

We've had him in his exersaucer before, but now he can really hold himself up in it when he pushes up on his legs. He has discovered that when he pushes up, he can grab the toys and put them in his mouth. Everything he grabs now goes straight into his mouth.


Our friend Valerie let us borrow this cute puppy hat and Alex loves it! He falls asleep almost everytime we put it on his head. In fact, the other night he just would not go to sleep for some reason, so we put this hat on him, put him in his seat in the stroller and wheeled him all around the apartment until he fell asleep . . . it took 10 minutes. Isn't he precious.

Joseph and I just love this look he gives us. When he wakes up in the morning or after a good long nap, he coos and babbles and then when we come in and turn him onto his back, this is the look he gives us as he stretches and wakes up. He likes to show off his double chin.
