Family Day

Just so we have it on record....There are a few different songs that you can sing to teach kids the days of the week. My kids make them extra fun because instead of saying Saturday when they sing them, they say, "and then there's FAMILY DAY!" Saturday has officially been dubbed family day in our house since it is usually the only day we have with Joseph, besides Sunday. But Sunday is sometimes filled with meetings and things. Joseph has had to work on a few family days here and there, but we always at least get part of the day with him. They love it. Love. It. Alex usually wakes up and runs out of his room every family day morning and yells, "Good Morning! It's Family Day!"

This last family day Joseph and Alex got up really early to go help someone move and vacuum the van out. They also ended up helping a stranded lady and her son on the way to the move, so Alex put in a very hard days work all before 9:30 am. He helped with carrying boxes, and power washing mats. So, when the boys got home and we got carseats back into the van, we all went to go through the car wash and then to McD's for ice cream cones. They were happy happy.

I love that! I want to start doing that too! Instead of an occasional day here and there, having a dubbed family day of the week really gives the kids something to look forward to.
