First we drove to Alexandria to look at a house for my friend Amber (who is moving here in less than a month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) then we decided, well, we're out so let's go downtown and see if the Glenn Beck rally is still going on and look around a bit. It wasn't, so we drove to the courthouse, parked the van and Joseph showed us around the courthouse. It was fun to see where he gets to work every day. He LOVES his job. Loves it. Loves it. Loves it. This is the main courtroom in the courthouse.
He then took us up to his office and the kids had fun twirling in the desk chairs.
Then we got a text from Jami and Jason Brinton saying they were in town for just the day for a wedding. Um what?!?! Iowa friends??!?! They happened to be at Union Station eating which is like a 10 minute walk from the courthouse, so we walked on over there and got to see them for about 20 minutes!! It was such a treat!! We love you guys!! It made my whole week to see you!! I forgot to take a pic with them, but here is Union Station. :)
Honestly though, their favorite part of the day was going through a really long tunnel coming into the city from Alexandria. They kept saying tunnel again tunnel again!!! We decided maybe we should forget the sights and just come down every weekend and drive back and forth through the tunnels. :)
And lastly, a big thank you to our trusty GPS. You have gotten us out of some pretty confusing areas. We love you Garmin Nuvi!!
